I strongly believe that numerical subjects such as mathematics and computer science can only be learnt properly by actively spending many hours trying to solve challenging problems. This is how I personally learnt these topics at school. To this day, even when working on advanced research areas such as Quantum Computing and Mathematical Logic I find that problem solving is what allows me to grasp the most difficulties topics I wish to master.
My approach in teaching mirrors this belief. For example, when tutoring A-Level students I usually create a bank of problems for my students that cover the entire syllabus (but nothing beyond) they are required to know for the exam. I then ask my students to solve these questions and discuss their solutions in detail, pointing out any mistakes they may have made. I tend to make a few of my questions harder than what is likely to appear in actual exams so that once students can solve these questions the exam will be a piece of cake!

Amin helped me in crafting my personal statement while I was applying for university. I eventually got accepted to a top school.
As someone who had many extracurricular activities, I was struggling to write a cohesive personal statement without suddenly bouncing from one activity to the next. Amin helped me with rewording my statement in a way that allowed me to show off my wide range of skills while at the same time linking each of these skill back to the subject I was interested in pursuing at university
What I liked most about Amin was his patient and clear explanations on why he believed that certain aspects of my essay should be changed. He offered valuable suggestions but never forced me to write anything, at the end of the day the final essay still told my story!View more recommendations
