About Eleanor
I studied philosophy for four years at Yale, and am now in a graduate philosophy program at Oxford. My personal philosophical interests lie in ontology (Questions such as: what is it that makes things the things that they are? What does it mean to say that something exists) and also in the history of Ancient Greek Philosophy.
As much as I like doing my own research, my real passion is in teaching philosophy. I love seeing and exploring different ways to understand and interpret the world. Human beings are question-askers that yearn for deep answers, but so often deep questions are rejected as childish or outlandish. In philosophy, they are embraced. Let's try to find some answers (or maybe just better questions) together.

A typical lesson might involve going closely over a piece of philosophy you were assigned in a high school or college class or are interested in learning about, discussing its terminology and philosophical context, and then exploring possible critiques of that piece and how you would begin writing about it.
We can also focus more specifically on how to structure and write a philosophy essay.
I want to help you crack into the deep truths of important philosophical texts, but also understand what questions motivate you and what these texts might have to say about our own daily lives and experiences.
