I've known John for many years since I became a student of his photography class, I took successive courses for 4 years with him at Sheffield college. More recently I've started photography with him again on a one-to-one level. I've always found him, well mannered, reliable, gentle, quiet, and straight-talking. If what you're working on isn't right or could be better, he has sensible, clear constructive suggestions as to how you could progress. I have the utmost respect for John, and have no issues in recommending him.
