About Yanji
I recently completed a PhD in Physics at TCD and have a strong academic background in Physics and quantitative problem solving. I have been teaching privately for more than 7 years.
Having spent many years studying Physics at university level, I understand that learning Physics is not simply about memorizing formulas. The most important part is developing an intuitive understanding of the underlying concepts and learning how to apply them to unfamiliar problems.
As a tutor, I aim to make difficult topics clear and approachable while maintaining a strong focus on problem-solving and exam preparation. I am particularly interested in helping students who feel that they understand Physics in class but struggle when facing problems independently.
I offer a friendly, patient and structured approach, and I am happy to work with students who want to strengthen their fundamentals as well as those aiming for higher grades.

I offer personalised one-to-one Physics tuition for students at different levels, including A-Level, Leaving Certificate and university Physics.
My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs rather than following a fixed template. We can focus on building a strong understanding of key concepts, working through challenging problems, improving exam technique, or preparing for upcoming exams.
For students who understand the theory but struggle to apply it to problems, I place particular emphasis on developing a clear and systematic problem-solving approach. We will identify gaps in your understanding, work through problems step by step, and gradually build confidence with more challenging questions.
Lessons are available online. I am happy to adapt the pace and content of lessons according to your current level, goals and exam board.
