I use exercises, tasks and games to relax the mind and encourage focus and self-questioning. What's whirring around inside you? What do you want to explore? What questions are you asking? We'll use improvisation and structured play to help stimulate the written word and the transferring of your mental images on to a page, so they can be shared.
I've been a creative writing tutor for Adult Learning Lewisham on their Mindlift scheme and have just written a creative memoir which is partly written in script. Exciting things can happen when you're writing material that's to be performed. I have recently uploaded scripts on TES site and have co-written 2 full length shows. The first was performed at The London Women's Centre and The second at the George Wood Theatre at Goldsmiths University. Writing playscripts opens up many possibilities for your imagination. LAMDA friendly.
I have eleven years teaching experience in Adult Education devising and delivering discrete courses and programmes for vulnerable adults with mental health challenges. I have also been delivering mindfulness/insight training for six years and really enjoy finding new accessible ways to help people decrease their suffering and find a more peaceful relationship with life. I’m used, and able to transform dry psychology/self-help theory into engaging practice; differentiating tasks/activities for ages 3 to 83 and am experienced at identifying and meeting people’s needs in a manner that acknowledges the whole person. I naturally work in a way that embraces diversity, remaining alert though to how we can all make assumptions and struggle with maintaining mindful listening.
