About Zamiyah
I am a dedicated and reliable tutor with a strong academic background in Political Science and Social Work. In addition to my studies, I work as a substitute teacher in elementary, middle, and high schools, which has given me valuable experience working with students across a wide range of ages, abilities, and learning styles. This role has strengthened my communication skills, adaptability, and ability to create a structured yet supportive learning environment. Through my work in classrooms, I have learned how to explain concepts clearly, keep students engaged, and adjust quickly to different academic settings. I am comfortable managing both one-on-one and group learning environments, and I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and professionalism when working with students. I take pride in being dependable, organized, and approachable. I strive to create a positive space where students feel comfortable asking questions and confident in their ability to succeed. My goal is to not only support students academically but also to encourage their growth, independence, and self-confidence.

- I approach tutoring as a collaborative and student-centered process. My goal is not just to help students complete assignments, but to make sure they truly understand the material and feel confident applying it on their own. I focus on breaking down complex ideas into simple, clear concepts and connecting them to real-life examples when possible.
- I use clear explanations, guided practice, and active learning. I start with simple language, then build up to more advanced ideas. I ask questions throughout to keep students engaged and adapt my teaching style based on how each student learns best.
- A typical lesson begins with a quick check-in to identify challenges. I then explain key concepts, work through examples with the student, and give them a chance to try independently. We end with a short review and tips for improvement.
- What sets me apart is my patience and focus on real understanding. I take time to make sure students get it and connect material to real-world topics like social work, policy, and law. I also help students build confidence and long-term skills.
- My lessons are best for students in elementary/middle school who need help in their math courses
