About Julian
I'm currently a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeking a Bachelor of arts degree in Chemistry. I will be earning my degree this upcoming December a semester early and have taken a multitude of chemistry and mathematics classes. Additionally, I have served as a peer mentor for the chemistry department within chem 101. As a peer mentor, I aided the students who were needing help and presented them with new ways to think about chemistry, which ultimately led to better learning outcomes.

As I've been a peer mentor within Chemistry 101 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I've learned a multitude of ways to instruct students through the difficulties that come with learning. Initially, I seek to gain an understanding of the student's thought process when addressing a problem. From there I seek to present the student with a new methodology for solving the problem. Additionally, I feel it is imperative to guide the student throughout the process rather than giving the answer outright. This ensures that the student learns how to apply their knowledge.
The lessons can be up to what aid the student is seeking or can be broken up into segments that ensure the student builds upon their knowledge. Additionally, these lessons can be applied to a student with grades 9th through 12th ranging from academic, honors, AP, or IB of chemistry or math. And for those within a college institution learning general chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, precalc or calculus 1.
