About Francisco José

IMPORTANT!
In order to speak with a tutor on Superprof, you must pay €29. This applies to everyone who advertises here. That money goes to Superprof; I don't get any of it. Superprof charges it for ‘helping you find the tutor you like through their platform’. If you then want to take lessons with me, don't worry, because I won't charge you when you book your first lesson. So, the €29 you pay to Superprof is like investing in lessons with me :)

Can you imagine being a civil servant with a permanent position?

Preparing for competitive examinations requires more than just playing well: it requires method, planning and in-depth knowledge of the selection process.

My approach is based on three fundamental pillars:
1. Strategy
2. Mastery
3. High performance

I always work from a practical and realistic perspective.

The preparation is personalised, progressive and adapted to your level and speciality, with special attention to the usual assessment criteria in professional and higher conservatories.

Usual contents of the preparation:

- Mock exams and working with real exam times
- Comprehensive reading of actual announcements of competitive examinations for conservatories and other competitive examinations in Spain and the Valencian Community
- Stages of the competitive examination: types
- Exams in a competitive examination: how much each one is worth and what they consist of
- Assessment criteria: what matters and what doesn't?
- Merit scale: individualised calculation of your merits and study of how they can be increased
- Planned schedule and post-meeting follow-up.
- Design and delivery of syllabus
- Verified method of rapid memorisation
- Musical analysis applied to works likely to appear in competitive examinations
- Functional harmony and structural understanding of the works
- Sight reading and error reduction
- Rhythmic precision and tempo control
- Piano technique geared towards the competitive examination repertoire
- Construction of a solid and coherent interpretative discourse
- Work on style according to periods and composers
- Design and delivery of Teaching Programme (TP)
- Design and delivery of Teaching Units (TU)
- Real examples of TPs and TUs
- Slow and detailed explanation of Theoretical Concepts
- Musical analysis applied to the piano
- Preparation for practical test
- Presentation and defence
- Supplementary teaching materials (sheet music, methods, specific resources)
- Personal experience in 3 recent competitive examinations (2019, 2021, 2023), obtaining a place in all 3
- Psychological preparation, stress management in public, focus in exam situations and management of unforeseen events.
- Recording of sessions and critical analysis (consult)

From the very first sessions, you will notice an increase in your chances of achieving your dream because your performance is my main goal.
