About Emily
I am a young tutor just starting her teaching journey but I already have such a passion for helping students thrive. I believe that anyone has the ability to learn, and despite the struggles sometimes anyone can be taught. In my free time, I love reading, crocheting, and working on developing some fun lesson plans that will engage students beyond the norm. In the next year, I will start my history bachelor's, and look forward to gaining more expertise than the almost 2 years of experience I already have.

I love project-based and interactive learning strategies, my go-to are Kagan Strategies for in-person work, but outfitting activities for online work has always been my strong point. I love teaching hands-on history, and making sure to always point back to significance and impact over rote memorization.
Most of my lesson planning focuses on an intro activity, a learning activity that is either student or teacher-led, and an activity to further learning and bridge toward full understanding and application rather than basic remembering.
I have experience working with 7th and 8th-grade history topics for Texas, but am open to teaching various history areas of all levels.
