As a primary school supply teacher, I have experience with a range of schools and pupils from the ages of 4 to 11.
Firstly, I would need to ascertain your child's strengths and areas they find more challenging. After a quick assessment, we would then create a bespoke curriculum for your child, dependent on their needs and of course interests.
A session may consist of : recap and revision of last weeks learning through a game or quiz.
New learning ; through explanation and modelling, applying this together and then applying this independently.
The application of the learning would be based around or include the child's interests.
As each child is different, the lessons would be tailor made to suit their needs and learning style.
I studied a PGCE with The University of Worcestershire. Here, I had a long placement in year 2, helping to prepare children for SATS. Since my training I have taught a year 4 class of my own. Now, I am a supply teacher who has visited a huge range of schools in and around Bristol. This has given me the opportunity to teach all age groups in primary schools.
