Primary school teacher with Creative writing degree in Bristol here to help!

Methodology

As a primary school supply teacher, I have experience with a range of schools and pupils from the ages of 4 to 11.
Firstly, I would need to ascertain your child's strengths and areas they find more challenging. After a quick assessment, we would then create a bespoke curriculum for your child, dependent on their needs and of course interests.
A session may consist of : recap and revision of last weeks learning through a game or quiz.
New learning ; through explanation and modelling, applying this together and then applying this independently.
The application of the learning would be based around or include the child's interests.
As each child is different, the lessons would be tailor made to suit their needs and learning style.

Background

I studied a PGCE with The University of Worcestershire. Here, I had a long placement in year 2, helping to prepare children for SATS. Since my training I have taught a year 4 class of my own. Now, I am a supply teacher who has visited a huge range of schools in and around Bristol. This has given me the opportunity to teach all age groups in primary schools.

Class Teacher
Westbury-On-Trym CE Academy September 2017 – July 2018
At this school, I had my very first class. During the year I ensured the children made progress academically and socially. This included designing engaging and creative lessons for all subjects of the curriculum. The children and parents trust and like me and I have built strong relationships with them.

Seasonal Assistant
Freedog July 2017 – September 2017
Here I helped with the day to day running of the trampoline park. I delivered briefings, whereby I had to outline to rules to ensure costumers would be safe on the equipment. I also worked on the entrance tills and on the trampoline deck ensuring everyone was safe and being compliant to safety regulations.

Learning Support Assistant
Prospero Teaching October 2015 – July 2016
I have worked in a variety of nurseries and schools in Bristol. I was placed at Parson Street Primary School for a long-term placement where I built relationships with the children in my class and in other activities. I helped in allotment club as well as strengthening children’s academic abilities.

Tribe Leader May 2015- September 2015
The Bushcraft Company
This was a seasonal position helping children discover their inter and intrapersonal talents. This role involved helping groups of children build fires, natural shelters, butcher rabbits and other survival activities. This helped the children challenge themselves in an unfamiliar environment tackling situations they had not come across before.
