About SALLY
I am an experienced, enthusiastic and engaging Primary School teacher. I have experience teaching in Key Stage 1 and 2 across the breadth of the curriculum. I work in line with National Curriculum expectations and monitor progress.
I currently work in a mainstream primary school in Trafford in a Year 4 class and I am completing a Middle Leadership qualification.
I have experience of teaching across every year group including Year 6 in Trafford, Manchester and Stockport schools. I previously spent three years as a Year 1 teacher. Prior to qualifying as a teacher, I worked with children on the Autistic Spectrum offering one to one support.
Throughout my career, I have worked with a wide range of individual needs, abilities and personalities! I am looking forward to using these skills to support children through one to one tutoring.
I am based in South Manchester and I am willing to travel to you.

I believe that for learning to be meaningful and successful then it needs to be rooted in concrete or real-life situations that children can relate to. I work hard to engage children with a variety of approaches, thematic links to the wider curriculum or to their own interests. I have a thorough knowledge and experience of the Primary curriculum and the expectations of each year as well as assessing progress and challenging children to exceed expectations.
I have worked with a wide range of abilities and understand the need to progress children from their current level of achievement. I have experience working with children with a diverse range of individual needs and believe that the key is engaging children with a personalised approach to learning.
In the teaching of reading, I have experience teaching a variety of phonics programmes as well as developing comprehension and inference skills.
I have experience of developing Maths skills throughout the Primary years and focus on developing learning using concrete and pictorial techniques towards the abstract. In Maths, the development of reasoning skills and children's application of their knowledge and skills to a variety of problems, puzzles and situations is key.
In writing, I am experienced in the teaching of spelling, handwriting and the understanding and application of grammar. Additionally, the construction and purpose of different sentence structures within writing and the style of a particular genre.
