About Alison
My name is Alison and I have taught primary children for over 30 years. I am a very conscientious teacher. I enjoy teaching primary school pupils of all ages, specialise in EAL teaching and tailor lessons to meet the needs of individual children.

I have taught all primary school subjects to all year groups from Reception to Year 7 in the UK. I also spent 10 years in Brunei teaching English as a second language. I now tutor English, both in person and online, to children in year groups from Reception to Year 9.
I have an honours degree in English, a PGCE and a CELTA (Cambridge English Language Teaching Award).
My specialisms are in teaching reading and writing through phonics.
I have a clear and systematic approach to teaching, with a focus on measuring progress in small steps.
Lesson length is one hour for in-person lessons, but varies for online lessons.
