About Carlos
Carlos López career defines him as one of the most restless musicians of the music scene in Spain. He leads his own training since 2006, with which he has recorded six albums and made hundreds of performances, participates in numerous projects as sideman. He run his own music label and production agency Jazz Activist, with which he organizes concerts throughout the peninsula for the 1906 beer brand, in addition to continuing his work as a music teacher. As if that were not enough, in the last three years he has been responsible for the resurgence of Clarence Bekker, one of the most requested singers internationally. In this period, besides being his drummer and having turned around the world, he also does the job of manager being a key piece in the positioning of this great artist. Carlos López has had the opportunity to train, in some of the most prestigious music schools, such as: Taller de Musics (Barcelona), Berklee College Of Music (Boston), Drummers Collective (New York) or ESMUC (Barcelona). It is in the latter where he obtains the superior title of Jazz and Modern Music. In 2014 he received a scholarship from the Copenhagen Conservatory to be part of the EUJAM master, which allows him to complete his studies and expand his career as a composer in the conservatories of Copenhagen, Berlin and Amsterdam. As interpreter has shown great versatility to play almost any style. This is evidenced by the fact that he has been part of projects as stylistically different as 08001 (World Music), María Toro (Falmenco Jazz), Yul Ballesteros (Jazz), Clarence Bekker (Neo Soul), Loop The Curl (Electronics), or Organic Collective ( Funk) In the field of Jazz, he has shared the stage with an endless list of great artists, including names such as Jerry González, Javier Colina, Benny Green, Bob Mover, Albert Sanz, Perico Sambeat, Voro García, Enrique Oliver, Moisés Sánchez, among many others.

The teaching method is fully customized depending on the level and expectations of each student. In the first class, a practice program is defined as a guide to achieve the desired objectives. Classes generally include studies and notions of musical language, technique, reading, interpretation of different styles, tuning and sound, polyrhythms, improvisation, transcriptions, etc ... If the student decides to concentrate on a specific style, the content will adapt to this style and its technical and musical requirements.

Tiene mucha experiencia y pericia enseñando, y tiene muy buen método para aprender haciendo desde la primera clase, además de ser un gran músico.
Además de tener un método en el que se contempla el desarrollo integral de la musicalidad del alumno, Carlos se adapta a tus necesidades y querencias, en mi caso, ser fiel a la tradición, lenguaje y sonido en cada uno de los estilos que me interesaba tocar. También agradezco enormemente sus opiniones y consejos acerca de otros aspectos importantes más allá de lo meramente musical: cómo organizar el tiempo de estudio, cómo mantener un actitud positiva, cómo ser tu propio manager...
A lo que hay que sumar lo entrañable y buen tipo que es.
Súper recomendableCarlos te hará entender lo que tocas, nada de aporrear baquetas sin sentido. Antes de las clases con Carlos tocaba la batería, luego de las clases con Carlos, aprendí a crear música! Si quieres un cambio radical en tú forma de tocar, Carlos es tú profesor.
Carlos ha sido mi profesor de batería durante 5 años. Carlos no solo es un magnífico profesor con el que aprender técnica, lenguaje y estilos, también supo perfectamente buscar la manera de hacerme salir de la zona de confort en la que me encontraba como músico, haciéndome abrir la mente a nuevos horizontes musicales que a priori no eran de mi interés. Además de un genial baterista y docente, Carlos es una persona extraordinaria, de la que he aprendido mucho más que batería y música.
