Professor Moreno was my instructor for a series of MIDI classes at Collin College, about 10 years ago. His teaching methods were varied, depending on the material, and I noted that he would use different approaches based on the particular student.
I've heard him play out a few times, and am able to attest to his musical skilal. You'd be lucky to have him as an instructor.

Juan is a knowledgeable and talented professional musician that understands music theory as well as playing techniques for both electric and acoustic guitar. As a teacher he quickly keys in on what the student needs to work on and is able to offer/explain/demonstrate different approaches as needed...and always in a patient manner. I took several guitar classes from Juan Moreno at Collin College in Plano Texas. My goal at the time was to learn strumming and lead guitar. One of the song I love was Everybody needs a friend (1973) by Wishbone Ash. Juan was very patient with me as my learning was very slow. He broke down the lead guitar section in small parts and taught me each part. I was very happy to be able to play the whole song including the lead section. Additionally, I learned several strumming pattern from Juan.
