About Ian
Hello, my name is Ian Michael Frost. I'm a guitarist and vocalist who started learning guitar at the age of eight, after being fired by my piano teacher! My guitar teacher taught me into the age of 17 and from then on I was self-taught. I turned professional in 1999 and proceeded to perform in countless acts across the UK and in 2016 began a career on cruise ships that is taking me right round the world and allowed me to play with some wonderful international musicians. Throughout my performance career, I have taught guitar, singing and general music in schools and privately.
I am passionate to pass on my love of music to others and to impart the knowledge that I have accumulated to help them grow musically. I really enjoy seeing the progression of a student and how music builds confidence and a sense of achievement as the musician flourishes.
My guitar hero – Eric Clapton, is known for playing all the right notes just at the right time. You don't need to play a million notes-a-second to be a good guitarist. But it is fun!

I know Ian from church where he played in the worship band. He was a fantastic musician and I was very happy that I took lessons from him. Ian could play anything I wanted to learn- he could listen to songs I picked and quickly figure the chords and techniques, write up the tabs and notation, and show me how to play them.
