About Ana
I’m Sofia, a photographer and visual artist from Monterrey, Mexico. With over a decade of experience in contemporary photography, my work explores the intersection of storytelling, identity, and my human psychological experience. I hold a Master’s degree in Fine Art Photography from IED Madrid and a semester at Chung Ang University in Seoul, South Korea. My photography has been exhibited internationally, including at the Venice Biennale NFTs, MARCO Museum, and Zona Maco, and published in renowned platforms such as PhotoEspaña, LensCulture, and Foam Talent. I’ve been fortunate to receive various grants and awards, including the EFCA grant in Mexico, which has allowed me to further develop my practice. As an educator, I am dedicated to helping students discover their unique photographic voice. My approach is rooted in the belief that photography is not just about technique, but about emotion, narrative, and personal vision. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your craft, I aim to inspire and guide you through a journey of creative exploration.

Hi! I’m Sofia Ayarzagoitia, a professional photographer and educator with a Master’s degree in Fine Art Photography from IED Madrid and a semester exchange at Chung Ang University in South Korea. My work has been exhibited globally, including the MARCO Museum, FOAM talent and featured in prestigious platforms like PhotoEspaña, LensCulture, and Paralela Magazine. I’ve also published several photobooks and participated in international art festivals. My Teaching Method I combine creative freedom with strong conceptual and technical foundations. My approach is: Student-centered: I adapt to your goals and level. Project-based: We work toward a meaningful outcome—portfolio, photobook, series, or exhibition. Critical and reflective: I guide you in analyzing images (your own and others’) to develop your photographic voice. A Typical Lesson Includes: A brief image discussion or visual inspiration. Practical exercises (camera use, composition, light, etc.). Conceptual guidance (narrative, sequencing, editing). Feedback and recommendations.
