My teaching methods include one-to-one instrumental lessons as well as lessons on music theory, I'm also able to accommodate group teaching. I teach piano, guitar, flute and music theory from primary school right up to university levels. I have vast experience in playing all my three instruments in various contexts e.g. rock bands, function bands, orchestral, jazz, jazz big bands, etc. As a successful freelance musician, I can also offer you advice on how to break it into the industry. I base my classes on the importance of identifying the strengths and weaknesses of my students, from which I could expand on the strengths and/or tackle weaknesses to make improvements. I approach topics by getting to know my students' interests i.e. what they find most enjoyable and using that drive to help them gain better motivation and understanding of the topic. In my opinion, the key to becoming good at music is to use your passion and motivation to drive yourself. Using the strengths and interests of my student to help them explore new areas, and work on their weaknesses could help widen their musical knowledge and realise their potential.
