About Orla
I am a skilled Piano tutor with 18 years of teaching experience, helping school students, college students, and working professionals develop their musical talents. I believe that learning Piano should be a fun, inspiring, and rewarding experience for every student.
My teaching approach focuses on understanding each student's goals and designing lessons that match their learning style. Whether a student wants to learn for personal enjoyment, academic purposes, or performance opportunities, I provide personalised guidance to help them succeed.
My lessons cover piano techniques, scales, chords, rhythm training, sight reading, ear training, music theory, improvisation, and performance preparation. I also help students develop strong practice habits that support continuous growth.
Apart from Piano, I teach keyboard skills, music reading, and basic music theory. These additional subjects help students gain a complete understanding of music and improve their overall musicianship.
I am committed to creating a supportive and motivating environment where students feel confident, inspired, and excited to learn. My goal is to help students achieve lasting success while developing a genuine love for music.

My teaching methodology is based on communication, creativity, flexibility, and positive encouragement. I believe every student has the potential to become a confident piano player when lessons are enjoyable, well-structured, and tailored to their individual needs. I take time to understand each student's learning style, experience, and musical interests before planning lessons.
Students begin by building a strong foundation through correct posture, hand position, finger exercises, rhythm practice, note reading, and basic music theory. Once these skills become comfortable, I introduce scales, chords, arpeggios, pedal techniques, dynamics, sight reading, and expressive performance. Each lesson builds naturally on the previous one, allowing students to progress with confidence.
My classes include demonstrations, practical exercises, listening activities, and regular revision. I explain every concept in simple English so students understand both the theory and the practical application. Students are encouraged to ask questions, practise consistently, and develop independent learning habits.
To keep lessons interesting, students learn music from different genres, including classical, pop, movie themes, devotional songs, and contemporary pieces. I also introduce basic improvisation and accompaniment to improve creativity and musical confidence.
Besides piano, I teach keyboard techniques, music theory, rhythm training, ear training, sight reading, music appreciation, and performance preparation. These related subjects help students develop complete musicianship.
My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students enjoy every lesson, improve steadily, and develop a lifelong passion for piano and music.
