About Isabel
I am a professional actor based in Chicago. My credits include nationally renowned theaters such as The American Shakespeare Center, as well as extensive work in regional theater markets at houses such as the Illinois Shakespeare Festival and The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey. I can also be seen on-screen on NBC's Chicago Fire (Season 12, Ep. 5), and in various independent films. Additionally, I serve as the Producing Manager of Foaming at the Mouth Festival, a new play festival that has run for two years in Chicago. In this time, I have watched hundreds of auditions, and this behind-the-table experience has helped me to identify what makes a memorable audition. I have trained at Shakespeare's Globe in London, and received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from The University of Minnesota / Guthrie Theater BFA Actor Training Program.

Hello! I love to work with actors of all ages and experience levels on honing their Shakespeare and classical text skills. Whether you're prepping a new monologue for college auditions, working on a callback for a Shakespeare Festival, or just want to refresh an old piece with new techniques, I'd love to be a part of your journey.
My acting methodology employs tools from Stanislavsky and Meisner. When looking at Shakespearean verse, I employ First Folio Technique, as well as other rhetorical speaking devices and techniques. As a queer, BIPOC Shakespeare practitioner, I believe that the Bard's work belongs to EVERYONE. The words are at their best when you bring your full self and experience to them. My belief is that with a strong foundation of technical skills, you have a springboard from which to play freely and make exciting, one-of-a-kind discoveries and choices that are unique to you -- even in poetry that's 400 years old!
