About Drake
I am a strong believer in balancing empathy and professionalism. Students can be confident that they will also feel listened to and understood, while at the same time knowing they are working with someone who is professional and will encourage them to achieve their highest potential. As a published author, I have experience working with others to improve the quality of written work. Additionally, in my experience as a tutor for the University of Southern Indiana, I learned how to communicate with students of various skill levels and backgrounds. There will be no judgment from me. I will meet a student where they are at and help them along.

I encourage students to write about any and all topics that interest them. Once the student writes a piece about a topic of their choosing, we can discuss what is working and what is not. Additionally, I encourage students to tell me what they think their strengths and weaknesses are as a writer, and in what ways they wish to improve. Lessons are curated in response to what a student is looking to get out of the tutoring session (for example, if a student wants to get better at persuasive writing, they will be asked to write an argumentative piece).
