My four-stage approach to teaching: demonstration to cooperation to guidance to independence. I begin by showing students how I would solve a problem, then we work together to find solutions. After they have gained confidence, I provide guidance and small corrections as they work. Finally, students will be able to tackle any challenge on their own.
