About Chloe
I am a friendly, approachable and experienced teacher who is passionate about helping students feel more confident in their abilities. I understand that English can sometimes feel challenging or overwhelming, particularly when preparing for exams, and I aim to make lessons clear, engaging and enjoyable.
I take the time to get to know each student, understand how they learn best and identify the areas where they would benefit from additional support. My aim is not only to help students improve their English, but also to develop the confidence and independence they need to make continued progress.
Whether you are looking for help with a particular area, preparing for an upcoming exam or simply want to feel more confident in English, I will provide patient, encouraging and personalised support throughout your learning.

My lessons are friendly, supportive and tailored to each student's individual needs, ability and goals. I believe students make the most progress when they feel comfortable asking questions, understand what they are doing and receive clear, constructive feedback.
I use a structured but flexible approach, combining explanation, modelling, guided practice and independent work. For GCSE students, I focus on developing the skills needed for their specific exam board, including how to analyse texts, develop ideas, structure responses and use evidence effectively. I also use model answers, worked examples and targeted feedback to help students understand how to improve.
Lessons are typically 1 hour and take place online. I adapt the pace and level of support depending on the student, whether they are looking to build confidence, consolidate their knowledge, prepare for exams or work towards higher grades.
I am a qualified British English teacher with over 6 years of teaching experience and have previously worked as a Head of Department/Senior Progress Leader for English in a secondary school. I have taught English Language and Literature at KS3 and GCSE and have experience with AQA, Edexcel, OCR, CCEA and IGCSE exam boards. I am also an AQA English Literature examiner.
I also support EAL learners and students with SEN or additional learning needs, adapting resources, explanations and activities to help each student access learning in a way that works for them.
I welcome students of different abilities and backgrounds, providing a positive and encouraging environment where they can develop both their English skills and confidence.
