About Dr Alexander

My lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs, focusing on clear explanations, active learning, and plenty of targeted exam practice. I break down difficult scientific concepts into manageable steps, helping students understand the underlying principles rather than simply memorising facts.

I use GCSE/A-Level past papers and exam-style questions to identify gaps in knowledge and develop effective exam technique. Lessons are engaging, structured, and supportive, with a focus on building confidence and achieving measurable progress. Whether preparing for GCSE or A-Level Biology, students receive personalised guidance to help them reach their goals.

About the lesson

I have worked with children for 9 years and have been tutoring extensively for the past 7, supporting students aged 5–18. Having achieved A* grades in all subjects (including Mathematics and three Sciences) at GCSE, followed by strong A-level results, an MSc with Distinction, and an MBBS degree, I have a strong academic foundation and a deep understanding of the scientific concepts required for GCSE and A-Level success.

I am passionate about making Science accessible and engaging, helping students develop a genuine understanding of scientific principles and the confidence to tackle challenging questions. I tailor my approach to each student's individual needs, whether they are looking to strengthen their foundations, improve their grades, or achieve the highest marks possible.

It is a great pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Alex, who has been an exceptional online tutor for my three children since March 2022.

Over the past few years, Alex has provided comprehensive academic support across a range of subjects and age groups:

GCSE Support: He successfully guided my older daughter and son through their GCSE Sciences and Mathematics.

Common Entrance Preparation: He has also worked closely with my 12-year-old son, preparing him for the science component of his Common Entrance exams.

Alex is a highly skilled and dedicated educator. He has always been exceptionally personable, reliable, and approachable. Most importantly, all three of my children genuinely enjoy their sessions with him, which has boosted both their academic confidence and their enthusiasm for learning.
I have been thoroughly impressed with his professionalism and effectiveness as a tutor, and I give him my highest recommendation.
