About Darcy
Teaching is something that I am passionate about as a result of my school experience. I want to help students understand their abilities and opportunities to help them achieve. I love physics and science and the skills that they nurture in students and strongly believe that those skills are applicable in situations far from the classroom.

Working as a teacher I understand the ways students learn and improve their performance through knowledge retrieval and exam techniques. I have tutored before, in 1-to-1 settings for those with foundation GCSE, SEND as well as A grade A-Level students. I believe that teaching should begin with mutual respect and encourage curiousity. Teaching science is about developing problem solving skills and approaches, not just remembering facts and my teaching style incorporates metacognitive activities and various pedagogies to accomplish this. Lessons would typically be an hour long and consist of stages that help develop the students knowledge, skills and exam techniques in various shorter tasks.
