About Flora
My name is Flora, I have been teaching in the UK for over 9 years. I love my job because I get to improve children's confidence by helping them learn, whilst having fun at the same time!
I hold a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) from Kingston University and a BA (Hons) in Geography (First Class) from the University of Nottingham.

-I have 9 years experience as a primary school teacher and 5 years experience tutoring children from ages 6-13
-Each tutoring session is completely tailored to the needs of the student
-I ensure learning is fun and interactive by incorporating games, quizzes and practical resources in my sessions
-I keep my pupils engaged by breaking up each session into smaller, manageable activities
-A typical session length would be 1-2 hours depending on what needs to be covered and how old the student is
-I have extensive experience teaching maths and have completed maths mastery training, meaning I use practical and visual resources to ensure pupil's mathematical understanding is secure whilst developing essential problem solving and reasoning skills.
-I am able to assess and cover gaps in learning by targeting specific knowledge and practices from The New Zealand Curriculum (Phases 1, 2 and 3)
-I can focus on particular areas of need relating to place value, times tables, arithmetic, written calculations, problem solving, number skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), fractions, decimals, percentages and basic geometry
-I have supported many dyslexic children and always use a dyslexia friendly approach
-I have experience supporting children with 11+ exam preparation
