About Lydia
I teach a class of 32 children, who are aged 9 and 10. They are expected to make a certain level of progress to get them to expected standard preparing them for the next year in school where they will take standardized test and ultimately for their transition into secondary education.
I try to tailor my lessons to my pupils specific interests. I find that children's learning is so much more progressive when it is meaningful to them. By basing it around their interests I aim to get the best out of my students. For example, my current class is extremely boy heavy. The majority interests are war and football. Our literacy stimulus was a fantastic book called Boy Overboard by Morris Gleitzman. This combined both elements and the writing and grammar work produced by the class was phenomenal.
I am a pationate teacher who aims to make learning fun and exciting whilst still making the best progress.

Qualified Primary Teacher. Currently teaching year 5. Looking for summer tutoring work. I have a honours degree in English Literature and A levels in English Literature, Mathematics and Religious Studies.
I like to teach in a very kinetic way getting children involved in their learning in the hopes of making it fun and memorable for them. I love to watch children's minds think and grow and watch their confidence blossom as they make progress with their learning.
I teach all curriculum subject from ages 4-11. I understand that children need a break during summer but also parents may want to prevent gaps forming (or bridge current gaps in learning) over the summer break. I would hope to create inspiring fun lessons so that the children achieve both holiday and learning simultaneously.
