About Lucy
I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember and I feel very lucky to be doing a job that I genuinely love. I’m a qualified primary teacher and have taught across different year groups, including Year 1, Year 2 and currently Year 4. This has given me a good understanding of how children develop throughout primary school and the different support they may need at each stage.
I also had the opportunity to teach in Africa for a month, which was an incredibly rewarding experience and something I will always remember. It reminded me just how much I enjoy helping children learn, grow in confidence and realise what they are capable of.
I’m a friendly, enthusiastic and slightly silly teacher! I love making children laugh and creating a relaxed environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I believe learning should be enjoyable, and I try to bring plenty of encouragement, humour and positivity to my lessons.
For me, the best part of teaching is seeing that moment when something finally clicks for a child and watching their confidence grow. That’s what makes tutoring so rewarding for me.

My lessons are friendly, engaging and tailored to each child’s individual needs. As a qualified primary teacher with a particular specialism in phonics and early reading, I have experience supporting children to build both their skills and confidence.
I offer face-to-face tuition for children in Years 1–6, covering phonics, reading, English, spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as KS1 and KS2 maths.
Before starting, I like to understand what your child is confident with and where they may need extra support. I then plan sessions around their individual needs, using a range of practical, engaging activities to make learning enjoyable and purposeful.
Whether your child needs help catching up, wants to build confidence, is preparing for assessments or simply needs some extra support alongside school, I aim to make every lesson positive and encouraging.
My goal is not just to improve academic skills, but to help children become more confident and independent learners.
