About Jehan

Hi, I'm Jehan! I'm 31 and a qualified secondary school Geography teacher based in London.

Before becoming a teacher, I worked in journalism, writing and photography, having completed a master's degree in Journalism and Documentary Practice. I also studied Human Geography at university, so I've always had a strong interest in understanding the world, its people and the environments we live in.

I'm half British and half French, and having grown up in Dubai and lived in Berlin, I've had the opportunity to experience different cultures and ways of life. I'm fluent in both English and French, and I enjoy bringing these different perspectives into my teaching.

I decided to become a teacher because I enjoy sharing knowledge, encouraging curiosity and helping young people develop a better understanding of the world around them.

Outside the classroom, I'm a keen cyclist and enjoy surfing, skateboarding, photography, films and the arts. I'm naturally curious and enjoy learning new things myself, something I hope to pass on to my students.

I believe that a good teacher should be approachable, patient and encouraging, while also challenging students to think independently and achieve more than they initially thought possible.

As a qualified secondary school Geography teacher, I offer engaging, supportive and personalised lessons tailored to each student's needs, abilities and learning goals.

I specialise in GCSE Geography (AQA) and KS3 Geography, helping students build their subject knowledge, develop confidence and improve their exam technique. My lessons focus on understanding geographical concepts rather than simply memorising information, with particular attention to applying knowledge, interpreting resources and structuring strong exam answers.

My lessons follow a clear, structured approach:

We begin with an initial assessment to identify the student's strengths, gaps in knowledge and areas where they need the most support. This allows me to create a personalised learning plan rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

From there, each lesson focuses on a specific topic or skill. I'll explain and model the key concepts, checking understanding as we go, before moving on to practice questions, including GCSE exam-style questions where appropriate.

A key part of my approach is live marking and feedback. We'll work through answers together, using exam mark schemes to identify exactly what examiners are looking for, where marks are being gained or lost, and how to improve. This helps students develop both their subject knowledge and the confidence to tackle exam questions independently.

I adapt my teaching to suit different abilities, using clear explanations, visual resources, guided practice and regular checks for understanding.

Alongside Geography, I offer KS3 French, English and general homework support. I'm fluent in French, have a master's degree in journalism, and a background in writing and photography, which I bring into my teaching where relevant.

Whether a student needs help catching up, building confidence or preparing for exams, my aim is to make learning accessible, interesting and rewarding.
