About Charlie
Hi there
I am a qualified teacher and have been teaching for the last 8 years in a couple of different middle schools. Throughout my time, I have taught a range of subjects, however maths has always been my specialism. Since the age of around 13 I have been tutoring or teaching in this subject area in some sense. Helping those younger than myself to master the core skills and build confidence in their own ability. Everyone can do maths! It just takes some a bit longer to comprehend, and sometimes we just need to be shown how to do something using a slightly different method.

My main area of tutoring would be for KS2 maths assessment (from y3 onwards) and to support pupils to build to the 11+ if they wish to sit this and to carry them on into KS3 to support them building ability and confidence.
I am offering an hours tutoring once a week for £35 a session.
I am a qualified teacher, with a masters in mathematics. I have been teaching in middle schools for the past 8 years. Over that time, I have taught all subjects up to year 6 and have spent 7 out of my 8 years teaching ks2 maths. I have taught both those pupils who excel at maths and need that extra push to achieve their potential as well as those who struggle with maths and need their confidence and core skills building so that they can succeed later on.
First of all my aim would be to make sure that your child progresses with mathematics and becomes more confident in the subject as a whole. I would first use an assessment to see where the gaps are in their learning, as well as speaking to the child and yourself to see where the most progress can be obtained. I would then use my years of expertise to teach your child these areas and build on it week in and out. Pupils would also be given access to online resources I know are available in their own time to improve on core skills such as arithmetic and times tables.
