About Sophie
I am a qualified teacher (PGCE) based in Oakwood in Derby and I have a Biology degree from The University of Sheffield. I specialise in the Primary age range (5-11) and keep up to date with current teaching practice and methods to engage and support children. I have always had a strong passion and enthusiasm for mathematics and wish to support children's development in this subject.

As a Primary Specialist I have indepth knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum. I am happy to provide tailored tutoring to KS1 and KS2 children including SATs practice. I have strong maths knowledge and can tutor up to GCSE level. My lessons use a range of concrete, pictorial and abstract representations to support full understanding of a range of mathematical concepts. I tailor my lessons to the needs of the learner, whilst ensuring fun, challenging and engaging sessions, building on the child's interests.
