About Shaaminy
I have 1 year of tutoring experience at Just for You Tutoring. There, I tutored multiple students in math and science, providing textbook resources, homework help, school assignments proofreading, continuous support and extra tutoring sessions as needed. I believe the first step to teaching is building trust and friendship: this includes not shaming or being frustrated at student’s mistakes, giving positive reinforcement and building a friendly relationship.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my dedication to getting to know their individual learning style, finding out their motivations and thought process and getting them to want to know more rather than academic obligation. As a previous tutor, I opened lines of continuous contact so students can ask questions and homework help, even when I am not working. I created interactive slideshows with lessons, where the students are prompted to answer questions and show their steps. As well, I assigned and marked weekly homework assignments.

I highly recommend Shaaminy as a math tutor - her deep understanding of the topics and her adaptability to what I am working on in class really helped me with difficult math topics. She made it easier to simplify and understand complex concepts. She is very approachable and knowledgable, thus I would greatly recommend her!
