About Harriet
I am a 20-year-old Arts and Law student at Monash University and am passionate about Literature and writing in general. I have mild dyslexia (so spelling is not my strong suit), but managed to achieve a perfect raw 50 study score in VCE Literature without any special consideration. Because of this, reading and writing were not skills that came easily to me, but rather areas in which I had to work extremely hard and develop my own strategies to get through the work. As a result, I understand what it's like to really struggle with these skills and can help you to find a personalized strategy so as to excel.

I have 2 years of experience as a VCE Literature tutor and completed the subject myself in 2022; so the study design and marking criteria are still fresh on my mind. My specialty as a tutor is in providing detailed and individualized feedback and criticism on your work so that you have the best opportunity for improvement. My lessons generally involve going through you practice SACS/exams, as well as past assessments, and discussing areas of improvement in detail. I also provide comprehensive notes on your writing and your study texts themselves so that you have lots of ideas and feedback to work on between lessons. To further improve your writing I can also supply perfect scoring examples of my own VCE Literature work to assist with your writing style and structure. Other areas I can help with are:
- comprehension of your study texts and their central themes
- understanding and incorporating scholarly perspectives into your writing
- expanding your vocabulary
- planning and structuring your responses
- developing a personalized exam/SAC strategy so that you go in feeling confident and prepared
- identifying literary techniques and unpacking their impact on the text
- understanding and catering to the assessment criteria and study guide so that your hard work is rewarded
- helping to make Literature both an academic strength as well as something you enjoy and feel passionate about
