I am willing and able to tutor most levels, ranging from the beginning of secondary school to degree-level. I am always eager to include a high level of discussion in my supervisions, although of course realise the importance of examination frameworks and the immense pressure to achieve high marks in written work. I have up-to-date knowledge of top universities and the current research environment, and have been fortunate to develop under the guidance of some of the leading academic figures in my historical field.
I am a recent graduate of UCL and Clare College, Cambridge. I have just moved back to London and am looking to offer affordable tutoring in English, History and any related fields (please don't hesitate to drop me a message if you are in doubt as to whether your field would be covered). Having won a research scholarship to Cambridge and, previously, having passed the 11+ to attend a top state grammar school in Warwickshire, I am well-placed to offer support at a variety of levels in these subject areas. I am friendly, empathetic and immensely enjoy the process of teaching someone that is willing to learn.
My rates vary according to travel costs; I will always take the cheapest form of transport and will charge for no more than that on top of the price of a session.
• Clare College, University of Cambridge (2017-2018)
• University College London (2014-2017)
• Lawrence Sheriff School, Rugby (2007-2014)
Offered and accepted a place at the University of Cambridge (Clare College) to undertake an MPhil in Medieval History. Was also selected to receive a Newton Award by the Faculty of History, an academic prize that includes a £12,000 postgraduate scholarship.
Achieved a First class Honours degree in History from UCL, with special commendation on the Dean’s List (awarded roughly to the top 15 history students graduating in any single year). My main research interests centre on the frontiers of Christendom in the late-medieval period; my dissertation examined French settler identities in the 13th-century Middle East.
Awarded 4 A-grade A-levels (in Mathematics, History, English Literature and Economics) and 3 A-grade AS-levels (in Computing, Further Mathematics and General Studies) whilst studying at Lawrence Sheriff, a boys’ state grammar school in Warwickshire. At Lawrence Sheriff I also achieved 10 A*-grade GCSEs (in Mathematics, English Language, English Literature, French, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computing, Religious Education and History).
