About Alexandra
I am passionate about English and reading, as well as art. I have always been drawn to the humanities and culture, ever since childhood visits to galleries, especially the Mark Rothko room at Tate. I also continue to practise art in my spare time, having completed my Art Foundation at Central Saint Martins. I encourage students to go beyond the syllabus, and I aim to share my enthusiasm for literature and art in a way that makes them feel alive and relevant.

I have five years of tutoring experience working with students of different ages, primarily in English GCSE and A-Level History of Art. I usually begin by building confidence through short, focused tasks such as five-minute questions and guided paragraph writing, where we work side by side, one I do, one they do, and then review our answers together. I also support students with essay planning and provide a range of model answers and resources they can draw on. Each lesson is fully tailored to the individual, balancing subject knowledge with a strong focus on exam technique, clarity of expression, and developing independent thinking.
