I am a passionate teacher and student who believes that every student has the capability to excel in their chemistry and mathematics coursework. As a woman in STEM, I know how hard and daunting some of the concepts and coursework can be, and I want to help each student find confidence in themselves so they can excel.

I am a firm believer, especially in chemistry and math, that slowing down and learning how to approach a problem and break down hard questions is integral to a student's success. Because of this, I find that working through practice problems is the best way for students to feel comfortable and confident in their knowledge. If a student is struggling with a certain concept, I typically conduct a mini-lesson tailored to how the student learns best (visual/powerpoint, going through notes, summarizing textbooks, etc.). Then, I like to work through practice problems with the student. Once it seems like they have a good understanding of the material, I encourage the student to become more independent while I remain available for assistance if they get stuck. This allows the student to gain confidence in themselves and their abilities, which is extremely important to me as a tutor.
I have experience tutoring students in group and individual settings, online and in person, at all levels ranging from middle school math to undergraduate coursework in advanced math and chemistry classes.
One of my biggest skills is being able to tailor my lessons to each individual student and being an encouraging and supportive teacher. I love finding new ways to explain concepts so they make sense to each student, since everyone learns differently.

Annie tutored me in Chemistry for my entire sophomore year and gave me guidance and teaching that helped me understand and be able to apply the material in my classroom at school. We met over zoom but still she was able to explain the content and answer any questions I had.
