About Lauren

I am a professional classical singer, having recently completed my postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music. I also play the flute and piano, as well as composing my own music, so I have experience across a range of instruments and I know how vital an understanding of music theory is to developing as a musician and artist is.

About the lesson

Lessons will be structured around what you want to learn. I have a great deal of experience tutoring students for ABRSM theory exams, as well as the theory elements of GCSE and A Level Music qualifications. I have a 100% pass rate with hundreds of hours of music theory tuition under my belt. If you just want to work on your music theory to improve your playing/singing and help you understand music a bit better, we can work on that too! Here's what a few of my previous students have to say: "Lauren has been an excellent tutor for my son. She has increased his confidence in Music A level by showing him the fast and easy methods to applied theory and making more complex areas of theory easier to understand. He tells me Lauren has wide knowledge of the subject, and has a friendly approach and manner. He feels she clearly prepares for the lessons for him, discusses homework he may have received and completed." - Nick, parent of A Level student. "Lauren was a fantastic music tutor! She was always prepared very well for each lesson with past papers, exercises, techniques... and she was so easy to work with too. Lauren helped me to achieve a Distinction (98%) in my grade 5 music theory exam in the space of only a few months since my music theory wasn't great at the time. I'd strongly recommend her as a tutor because she will get you the result you need!" - Jake, Grade 5 theory student "Lauren is a very knowledgeable and efficient tutor, she helped my 13 year old son prepare for Grade 5 Music Theory exam. I loved her confidence during lessons and communication about exam preparation. Nothing but deep gratitude for Lauren’s work!" - Olga, Parent of Grade 5 theory student
