About Ava
I aim to have an environment in my sessions that not only supports students academic success, but also personal well being and mental health. I recognize the challenges in education and have lived through many myself and all I neededat the time of challenge was one teacher who supported me. I hope to be that one teacher for you! Whether it is test taking skills, essay writing, job/interview prep, career advice, stress management, etc I will always answer to your call and be there to support your needs.

My lessons can be for high schoolers, college students, and prospective law students.
My lessons are very structured and organized. I first will give them many examples, templates, etc and show students what research tools to use. We then do some inspiration exercises to pull creative and unique ideas for writing geared to the student. I then instruct students to write a rough draft with a due date. After the due date, I give feedback through annotating their drafts, we discuss what they can do better, and move on to the next draft.
I also love helping students with resume, interview prep, cover letters, writing samples, linkedin pages, building websites, etc to start building their personal brand to shape their career and have materials to submit when the time comes for job applications.
My caring and nurturing nature allows students to build a professional connection with me to build trust in this process. Test taking is a menatally challenging expireince for most, so I do my best to share test taking coping skills to try and alleviate anxiety and stress before, during, and after testing.
