About Shelly
I am a Ph.D. scholar with a strong academic and research background. I earned my Master’s degree in Biotechnology from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, where my dissertation work spanned diverse areas including microbiology, industrial biotechnology, and advanced biological research. I have industry experience as a Research Associate at Reliance Industries, and extensive academic teaching experience having guided M.Sc. students in dissertation work, taught bachelor’s students in labs, and currently mentoring postgraduate students in microbiology lab. I understand the challenges students face during my own academic journey, resources and guidance were often limited. I worked hard to reach where I am today, and now, with both the experience and resources at hand, I want to make the path easier for my students.

As a current PhD scholar in Biology at BITS Pilani, I bring my students more than just textbook knowledge. I bring the real science from the lab directly into our lessons. I actively work in a biology and biochemistry research lab, guiding MSc students in their practical work and having taught numerous bachelor’s students in both classroom and laboratory settings.
What makes my teaching different is that I’m not a traditional, old-fashioned instructor. My methods are fresh, interactive, and connected to the latest scientific developments and technology. I integrate real-life lab examples, case studies, and modern learning tools so students can see exactly how biology works in practice, not just on paper. My approach is concept-focused, and adapted to the way today’s students learn best making science engaging, understandable, and deeply relevant to their future goals.
