Science and Health Tutoring. Learn something, practice it, perfect it and utilise it. Learning builds character and skill, improve yourself and your opportunities.

Methodology

I like to use visual aids when teaching, i believe problem based learning is most effective so i may allocate light homework alongside tutoring sessions. Classes will be based on the student and we will have agreed goals which we can use to monitor progress. I am polite and calm and happy to explain slowly and repeat myself where required to promote student understanding.

Experience

I am a full time Medical Science Student who enjoys cooking, healthy eating, gym, fitness, rowing, reading and chemistry. I have been a student most of my life and understand the concept of teaching, learning, revising and practicing biology, math chemistry based materials.

WORK EXPERIENCE
May 2017- Part Time: Waiter and Bartender
December 2017. Zizzi, 59 George St, Oxford OX1 2BE
Our bar served a range of drinks including spirit mixers, bottled drinks, wine, mocktails and cocktails. Making the cocktails look presentable with garnishes and having the right mix was essential for both taste and aesthetic quality. Having a friendly approach when greeting customers and bidding them farewell was important, even an stressful times I was able to remain cheery and well-mannered towards both customers and colleagues. Teamwork, organisation and a good knowledge of the products was essential to provide a fast and high level of service. Also due to a confined space and two people on the bar on one shift involved working with and around each other, me and Max never had any issued and often enjoyed the odd joke or two whole working hand in hand.
July 2013 –
March 2017
Part Time: Supervisor and Waiter
Loch Fyne Seafood and Grill, Winchester,
Hampshire, SO23 8RZ.
Part of my job role involved covering the bar which I enjoyed, we had a selection of cocktails to make alongside pouring pints of larger and serving mixers. My duties as a supervisor included handling money, closing till systems, end of day accounting, maintaining a premium standard of service, handling complaints and finding a resolution to meet the customers needs in such cases, management and organisation of staff to run the restaurant smoothly and efficiently.
As a waiter, it is my job to ensure customers receive a friendly, professional and attentive service to meet the high standards that are expected from a premium restaurant. Throughout the service humour, personality and a positive attitude are vital aspects in giving an exceptional experience to each customer. Maintaining professional if a complaint is made and communicating with both managers and kitchen staff to achieve the best resolution. Working as a team member and having a positive relationship with colleagues is important to me as this allows service to be both efficient and enjoyable for customers and all staff.
March 2012 –
July 2013
Full Time: Duty Manager
Pizza Express,109 Poole Road, Westbourne, Dorset, BH4 9BB,

My job was to manage a busy restaurant before during and after service. I have worked in five separate pizza express restaurants over the duration of my employment gaining valuable experience with dealing with a different range of customers and team members. My duties included; speaking to customers and helping with their enquiry’s and complaints, ensuring an exceptional level of customer service is delivered to each individual customer, building a rapport with regular customers, communicating with members of the team to ensure an organised smooth service, analysing rotas and reacting to areas that require amended staff on shift, recording, resolving and logging of maintenance jobs that are required, completing the end of day accounting by counting the money taken, matching the card and till systems and processing the data through the computer system, keeping up to date with all paperwork including contracts, employee personnel files, forms for both cleaning and quality checks, communication with other managers to aid them on their shifts, ordering of delivery’s and receiving and checking delivery’s.

PERSONAL STATEMENT

I consider myself to be an outgoing, positive and hardworking person who loves a challenge. I enjoy the company of other people but do not let others distract me from my work. I would say that I am a team player as I believe working well with others leads to success both in and outside of the workplace. I am reasonable in all situations, considerate to people I know and meet and I am honest about what I do. I believe working hard and good organisation achieves the best results possible. I am open minded and always willing to learn new skills and demonstrate them inside and outside of the workplace
