About Nathanael
I originally began my journey as an educator in 2019, working as a camp counselor with ages 5-6 at the YMCA. I completed my bachelor's in History and International Studies in 2023 - during which - I worked in an elementary school as an afterschool coordinator and tutor, specializing in reading and writing skills. I have also worked as a substitute with SPARK Business Academy in various schools in the Seattle area, helping create enriching after-school experiences for students of all grade levels. Additionally, as a former student myself, I understand the importance of tutoring and assistance in the educational process. I also understand it is not necessarily an enjoyable thing to do after a long day of school, or on a day off. Accordingly, I believe in prioritizing connection, fun, and movement in my sessions.

I am a firm believer in meeting each student where they are, and to understand what each learner wants to achieve and accomplish, according to their own unique learning style. I received my bachelor's degree in History and International Studies from Seattle University in 2023. As such, my specialties are reading, reading comprehension, writing, and English. I begin most lessons with word and reading games to create a relaxed, calm, and enjoyable learning environment. With a personalized approach, I break down tricky grammar, teach how to write strong sentences and paragraphs, and help readers understand what they read (and even enjoy it!). I use interactive materials, engaging stories, and targeted practice to help students improve fast. Whether you're just learning English, struggling with school assignments, or want to boost your writing skills—I’m here to support and guide you every step of the way. I am happy to provide support for elementary, middle, and high school students with varying degrees of materials. I am also experienced working with students with learning, developmental disabilities, and autism.
