About Jasmine

I want to tutor primary school children because I know firsthand how challenging learning can be when the classroom doesn’t quite fit your needs. Growing up with ADHD, I often found it difficult to adjust, I struggled to focus, keep up with others, and feel confident in my abilities. Sometimes a bit of extra support and knowing that you are able to achieve what you thought you couldn't can be the biggest reward there is. Those early experiences shaped not just how I see education, but how deeply I care about helping children find their own way to succeed. Over the years, I’ve worked closely with a wide range of children with Special Educational Needs, and each experience has strengthened my belief that every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and capable. Having a safe and fun environment where children can be themselves is incredibly important to me. There's nothing more rewarding to me than watching a child grow in confidence and realise they can do it and I want to be someone who helps make that moment happen. Knowing that I am shaping young lives and helping them gain their passion for education, whilst still making it fun, is really important to me and knowing that this extra help has shaped me into working my way to be a university degree earner, I would love for children to know that they can achieve their dreams too.

About the lesson

I am an experienced tutor with a background in primary education and over 2 years' experience in both one-on-one and small group teaching, including experience with a range of different SEN children. I offer fun, engaging, and structured lessons tailored for children aged 5 to 11. Not only is it important to me for children to learn but it is also really important to build up good bonds with the children so then I am able to tailor my tutoring lessons to each individual child, making it fun and easier for them to learn and achieve their goals. I am aware that some children may find it difficult to focus for long periods of time therefore, each session can last between 30 minutes to 2 hours, including structured brain breaks for the longer sessions where I design to build confidence and understanding using proven techniques such as interactive games, visual aids, and step-by-step learning. I follow a supportive and child-centred teaching approach, making sure every child feels encouraged and motivated. My tutoring sessions are ideal for all primary school levels, whether your child needs help catching up, wants to stay on track, or is ready for a challenge beyond the classroom. An average 1 hour tutoring session: We will start with a 5 minute catch up of how their week at school has been, what they're currently learning and what they have found easy and difficult in that week We will then move onto a 5-10 minute warm up so I can assess their difficulty level and the best way to help their learning, including the techniques I need to use We will then spend about 30 minutes, completing work together, going through worksheets in an engaging manner and helping the child feel confident in their work The last 15 minutes of the session we will spend going through the answers to their work, correcting any mistakes and making sure they feel confident and understand fully the work and process of what they have been learning. The last five minutes will be wrapping up the lesson and giving praise to the child because learning can be difficult sometimes and it is important to me that all children receive both praise and validation for their hard work!
