About Jocelyn

Well, as I mentioned in the previous question, I have seven children. My oldest is married and is a paramedic/EMT/fire fighter who is almost done with his nursing degree. He was stationed in Hawaii with the Air Force for six years. Can you imagine going to Hawaii when you’re 18 years old, and being able to live there for six years? :-)
Next I have a daughter who is enrolled on full scholarship at the famous SCAD and is killing it as an interior designer. After her, I have another daughter who graduated from nursing school two years ago, and loves her job as a traveling nurse. Then there’s my son who has worked his way up through the levels of management and is now part owner of a pool cleaning service at only 21 years old. My three younger kids are always on the honor roll in high school.
I think my children are the greatest testament of my abilities because I homeschooled all of them. I specialize in creating unique curriculums according to each students needs, and I know how to make learning fun! In fact, I insist on it!
I value creativity intensely and look for ways to develop a more hands-on learning experience for my students.
One fun fact about me… I am a candle maker! What started as a hobby over 20 years ago became a thriving seasonal business when all my kids were still home. It is how we paid for Christmas every year.

About the lesson

I am a total grammar nerd, L O L! Whether teaching a literature course and helping you with reading comprehension and essay writing, or a class where we pursue the creative aspects of poetry, I’ve got you covered :-)
Studying English Language Arts in any capacity will help you think more clearly, write more clearly, communicate more effectively, and if taught properly… You will not dread your writing assignments ANYMORE!
I have a formula that anyone can use for almost any type of writing that I’ve developed over the past 20 years.
I am a former homeschool mom of seven children. My first four were homeschooled all the way through high school, so I am comfortable teaching any grade level. I have even helped engineering technicians write their project reports.
I also know how to cater to different learning styles. Each one of my kids is very different, so I educated myself by reading a lot of books and attending conferences. We will work together for your success!
