About Jane
I am a qualified teacher and have worked both in and out of school within a teaching/tutoring capacity for the past 30 years. My passion is helping children with SEN challenges and working with mainstream English students. I have a vast amount of experience teaching young people with autism, ADHD, SEMH, dyslexia, Down's syndrome in addition to many other areas of SEN.

Before any lesson starts I would discuss the topic and activity for that lesson and ask the pupil why they think we need to learn about this, i.e. why is it necessary, useful and how does it help us in daily life etc. I would follow a 7 stage plan for my lessons covering:- a) lesson objectives b) ensuring understanding of the concept being studied c) example of the concept d) an activity e) support towards any confusing areas whilst the activity is being completed f) consolidation of the original objectives. After I would review the lesson and reflect on it which would be my final stage.
