About Saleana
I started teaching my freshman year of highschool. My senior year, I was in charge of an afterschool program where I tutored k-12. After that, I was a teacher's assistant for 2yrs where I taught basic english and math to elementary students. I also worked as a summer camp tutor during the summers. I graduated 4th in my class with an honors diploma and passed 3 AP exams (AP US History, AP Literature, AP English) with a 4 or above. I am now attending a private university where I am on the dean's list with a 3.8 GPA and I double major in Criminal Justice and Psychology. I also volunteer at the local library for tutoring and I am a free tutor for the university. All together, I have hundreds of hours in tutoring and teaching in a classroom setting that gives me 6+ years of experience.

My teaching method is student centered. I work to meet every student where they are academically. I work to engage each student I teach by making the material interesting and fun. Some of the methods I use are reciprocal teaching, 5 minute writing prompts, student based questions, graphic organizers, and photos. I also try to use pre-reading, during reading, and post-reading questions.
