About Jiya
Attending a dedicated STEM academy has given me a deep appreciation for problem-solving and conceptual math, and I’m incredibly excited to share these strategies with other students. As a current high school senior, I’m right there in the trenches; I understand the exact pressures, modern test formats, and curriculum standards students face today. I love breaking down complex concepts in a way that feels relatable, acting as a supportive peer mentor who speaks students' language.

I believe that mastering mathematics starts with confidence and a supportive environment. As a senior at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA), I combine high-level academic rigor with a kind, patient, and empathetic teaching style.
My approach is highly adaptable and completely dependent on the student's immediate goals. We will focus on one of two pathways:
Test Preparation & Confidence: Reviewing current classroom material, clearing up confusion, and studying targeted concepts for upcoming exams to boost grades immediately.
Academic Acceleration: Previewing future topics to get the student ahead of their school curriculum, giving them a massive competitive edge and reducing classroom stress.
During our sessions, I teach students both the traditional foundational methods so they truly understand the underlying concepts, alongside clever shortcuts and test-taking strategies that I have learned to solve problems quickly and efficiently. Beyond the math, I focus on forming genuine, positive bonds with my students so they feel comfortable asking questions, and I always provide a wealth of high-quality resources and tools for extra practice outside of our lessons.
Because of my background, I am uniquely equipped to teach all levels of mathematics. I have taken everything from foundational Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, and Geometry, up to advanced levels such as AP Calculus (AB/BC). I believe my sessions would be perfect for students who are currently struggling and need a patient boost, as well as high-achieving students looking to get ahead or prepare for rigorous STEM tracks.
