I love teaching and helping students of all ages learn and be successful!
I use a student-centered approach and view students as professional clients. Students learn best in an environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and knowing the tutor will provide clarity using alternate explanations. I am well versed at differentiating instruction in order to meet the needs of all learners. I effectively employ a diverse range of strategies such that my tutoring is customized for each student to maximize effectiveness.
Mathematics can be barrier for many students. With my extensive experience teaching mathematics to a wide spectrum of learners, I am capable of quickly clarifying mathematical skills before proceeding so that no student is left behind. Although solving mathematical problems quantitatively is essential, conceptual understanding is equally vital for mastery of math. I like to show how mathematics applies to everything from economics and biology to physics and chemistry.
As a high school teacher, I have taught PreAlgebra, Basic Math, Algebra I/II, Geometry, Trig, PreCalculus, Honors Calculus, AP Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, Honors and AP Physics. I developed and implemented a unique and highly successful course called Integrated Physics & Calculus. This course was a combination of AP Calculus AB and AP Physics C Mechanics. As a community college instructor, I taught Physics, Microbiology, Pre-Calculus, and Astronomy.
