About Paul

I am a professional fine artist specialising in figurative portraiture, holding a Master’s Degree (MA) in Fine Art. Alongside my studio practice, I am a PGCE-trained teacher with extensive experience instructing diverse student populations, including individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and those learning English as a foreign language. My dedication to the craft led me to win the Wildcard round on Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2019. Painting and drawing are my lifelong passions, and I combine my elite artistic expertise with formal, professional teaching methodologies. I provide a highly supportive, adaptive, and inspiring environment where every student can confidently build their skills and express their unique voice.

Because of my diverse educational background, I am uniquely equipped to adapt my teaching to suit every student's individual learning style. We can focus on: Figurative & Portrait Drawing: Mastering proportion, facial anatomy, structural accuracy, and tonal values. Oil Painting Techniques: Understanding colour mixing, capturing skin tones, layer application, and expressive brushwork. Accessible & Creative Art: Specialised, sensory-friendly art lessons tailored for Special Educational Needs (SEN) students. Art for Language Learners: Inclusive art instruction integrated with English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) support to help students build vocabulary alongside artistic skills. Your first lesson is free! This initial session serves as a relaxed consultation where we will discuss your artistic goals, access needs, and map out a personalised learning plan.
