About Hobbes
Hello there! My name is Hobbes and I'm passionate about teaching and preparing students for their next phase of life, that is university and soon the working world.
My background in Sociology (NUS class of 2008) and user experience design taught me the importance of critical thinking, and above all, the valued skill of empathy that I personally feel the classrooms don't teach enough.
To me, being educated and well-read isn't all about degrees or the number of books you've read. It's really about having that open yet critical mind to consider experiences and viewpoints different from you, and perhaps to reach a nuanced middle-ground that would strive to benefit most if not all parties.
