About Jonathan
I grew up in the historic city of Durham, England, but have lived and travelled in more than 50 countries in my life. I lived in Asia for 14 years (in lots of different places) and now live between the UK and Canada with my Canadian wife and our young daughter.
I have a "neutral" English accent, but after spending more than 10 years in American-English environments, and with lots of experience teaching and editing in American English, I can teach both British and American styles.
In my spare time, I love family activities like museums, amusement parks and getting out into nature. I love learning and in all my free minutes, I'm absorbed in books and podcasts. I also love fitness, especially cycling, hiking and going to the gym. I still get to travel quite a lot and find it enormously fulfilling. My favourite ever travel experience was spending 70 days walking in the Himalayas, including a visit to Mount Everest and all around the Annapurna Circuit.
