About Max

I became a self-taught programmer in my teens, learning from books and online tutorials. I then completed a BSc and MSc in Computer Science, followed by more than a decade in industry where I *really* learned what programming is about. I'm currently studying for a PhD in Music and AI. I've worked for tiny startups and massive corporations, from healthcare, to finance, to the arts. I've worked with most major languages including C++, Java, Objective C, Python, Scala, Perl, Haskell and Julia. I've also taught and assisted in programming courses at City University, Goldsmiths, Queen Mary's University and Sussex University.

About the lesson

I've worked with and taught a broad range of programming languages, from beginners to post-graduate students and I'm certain I could offer the support and help you require whatever your experience or requirements. I offer a personalised learning plan, based on your current experience and goals. Whether you're just starting out and need help deciding where to invest your energies, or you're a student trying to get to grips with new concepts, I can offer in-person or online guidance and support. I encourage a practice-based approach to learning, backed by a solid theoretical basis. The only way to advance as a computer programmer is by doing!
